Man City prepare WORLD RECORD offer for Cole Palmer
Manchester City are prepared to pay an initial fee of €200 million to bring Cole Palmer back to the club this summer, according to a sensational report in Spain.
The England international has established himself as one of the world’s best players since leaving Pep Guardiola’s side to join Chelsea back in 2023 and Man City are now reportedly eager to re-sign him.
That is according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, who speculatively claim that Man City are ready to pay €200m, plus an additional €50m in add-ons, to sign Palmer before the end of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old would become the world’s second-most expensive player in history if Man City succeed with a €200m bid, while he would surpass Neymar’s record €222m transfer to Paris Saint-Germain if those aforementioned add-on clauses are met.
However, Chelsea are unlikely to sanction a sale even if they receive a world record transfer offer.
Palmer has scored 43 goals and provided 29 assists in 97 appearances since his move to Stamford Bridge, and his current contract with the west London giants isn’t due to expire until 2033 after he signed an extension last year.
The Blues are in advanced talks to sign RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons, who could potentially replace Palmer if he were to leave, but the Englishman is the biggest superstar at the club and with no incentive to sell, Enzo Maresca’s side are likely to reject any transfer proposals.
Man City extremely unlikely to submit Cole Palmer offer
Although Man City are reportedly interested in re-signing Palmer, they have already strengthened their attacking roster this summer and a world record offer is therefore extremely unlikely.
Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders have both arrived at the Etihad Stadium for a combined fee of €91.5m, while Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb, Savinho, Jeremy Doku, Omar Marmoush, Jack Grealish, Claudio Echeverri, Ilkay Gundogan and James McAtee all remain at the club.
