Chelsea complete SHOCK Deadline Day signing
Facundo Buonanotte has completed his shock loan move to Chelsea from Brighton.
Nicolo Schira reported on Monday morning that Buonanotte has signed his contract with the Blues and the deal will be officially announced imminently.
The 20-year-old joins Chelsea on a straight season-long loan with no purchase option or obligation.
The Argentine is linking up with Chelsea as an alternative to Xavi Simons, who completed a move to Tottenham after growing tired of waiting for the Blues to agree a deal with Leipzig.
Chelsea and Brighton deals
The Seagulls were adamant that a permanent sale wouldn’t be permitted this summer, as per Ben Jacobs, so Chelsea arranged a loan instead.
The transfer comes as something of a shock as Buonanotte struggled on loan at Leicester last season.
Despite an encouraging start to his loan spell at the King Power Stadium, Buonanotte only started four of Leicester’s final 22 Premier League matches (excluding fixtures versus his parent club Brighton).
Chelsea owners BlueCo have also finalised the signing of another Brighton player, Julio Enciso.
The 21-year-old initially joins Strasbourg on a permanent deal.
However, the idea is for Enciso to be transferred to sister club Chelsea next summer.
