The Blues have identified Garnacho as a key target amid his uncertain future at Old Trafford and they are eager to finalise a cut-price transfer before the end of the summer transfer window.

Garnacho, 21, scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 appearances last season, but his relationship with Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim soured following a public bust-up after the Europa League final and he has been placed in the club's 'Bomb Squad'.

Amorim has admitted that Garnacho wants to leave Old Trafford this summer and Man Utd are determined to offload the Argentina international as they look to fund the signings of Benjamin Sesko and possibly Carlos Baleba.

The 21-year-old has set his sights on completing a move to Chelsea and Enzo Maresca’s side have now entered into negotiations with Man Utd, according to Ben Jacobs.

The transfer reporter posted on X: “Chelsea open initial talks for Alejandro Garnacho, with the Manchester United winger keen on a move.

“Manchester United [are] seeking in excess of £40m, but Chelsea feel the price will drop should Benjamin Sesko's move be completed.”

Garnacho currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €59.8m, but Chelsea believe he is worth just €34.5m and are hopeful of finalising a cut-price deal due to his status at Man Utd.

Garnacho seems destined to join Chelsea this summer, despite the fact that Jamie Gittens has already arrived in west London for a reported fee of €56m from Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea are also eager to sign RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons and the Netherlands international is pushing to complete a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
