Crystal Palace have opened talks with Arsenal over a deal for Reiss Nelson, according to reports.

The Eagles are looking to have a blockbuster end to the window after the outcry from head coach Oliver Glasner over the club's sluggishness in bringing in players.

With star attacker Eberechi Eze having moved to Arsenal in a €69 million deal, Crystal Palace have money to spend, and they are looking to put it to good use.

Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino is on his way to South London for his medical as he is set to join Palace in a deal that is expected to be significantly cheaper than the initially reported club-record €50m fee.

Palace feel that they need more attacking reinforcements, however, and they have now also opened talks with Arsenal to strike a deal for winger Reiss Nelson.

Palace open Nelson talks

At least that is according to journalists Charlie Wyett and Ben Jacobs, who report that discussions with the Gunners are taking place over a permanent transfer in the region of €17 million (£15m).

It comes after FootballTransfers exclusively revealed in July that Nelson had been approached by Arsenal to gauge his interest in potentially heading to Selhurst Park as part of the Eze deal.

Nelson spent the previous season on loan at Fulham, but his stint was cut short due to a serious hamstring injury. The Cottagers had been in talks to re-sign him, but they are now prioritising moves for Shakhtar Donetsk star Kevin and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze.

It remains to be seen if Palace can strike an agreement with Arsenal, but Nelson's departure before Deadline Day looks inevitable, with the 25-year-old having massively struggled to get minutes under Mikel Arteta in recent seasons.

Nelson currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €16.4 million, so a deal in the region of €17m would be a fair reflection of his value. He still has a contract at Arsenal until 2027.
