Tuesday is a big day for managerial changes with Nicolo Schira reporting two big coaching appointments close to being finalised.

The first is at Nottingham Forest. The Premier League side announced in the early hours of the morning that Nuno Espirito Santo had been sacked as the club's manager.

The Portuguese coach was sacked despite an outstanding spell in charge after his relationship broke down with owner Evangelos Marinakis and the club's board.

Ange Postecoglou immediately was named the favourite for the job and Schira now reports that negotiations are at the "final stage".

The Australian, born in Greece, has a contract at the City Ground until 2028.

He has been out of work since the summer when he left Tottenham.

Postecoglou spent two years at Spurs, famously winning the Europa League in May by beating Man Utd in the final.

Tedesco to Fenerbahce

In other managerial news, Schira reports that Domenico Tedesco is getting closer to be the new Fenerbahce coach.

Schira says that talks are progressing well for the German-Italian manager.

A contract is ready to be signed until 2027.

Tedesco left the Belgium national team this year after a disappointing spell where they were knocked out in the last 16 of Euro 2024 and he fell out with Thibaut Courtois.

Fenerbahce have been on the lookout for a new manager after they sacked Jose Mourinho at the end of August.

Mourinho was dismissed after Fenerbahce were knocked out of the Champions League by Benfica in the playoff stage.

Mourinho had a deteriorating relationship with the Fenerbahce board as they clashed over transfer policy in the summer months.

The Portuguese even went public on his frustration as he said: “If the Champions League was vital to my club, something would have been done with the transfer window between Feyenoord and Benfica.

“I don’t think Fenerbahce has a transfer list.”
