Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Chelsea DOUBLE DEAL, Man Utd move 'ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE', Nico Williams BOMB

Football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano has delivered the latest news from the 2025 summer window, with updates on Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Nico Williams.
Chelsea double deal
Chelsea have already completed five signings so far this summer, but Romano has confirmed that two more transfers will be officially confirmed shortly.
He told his YouTube channel: “Joao Pedro is in the United States of America and he has completed his medical so everything is okay. Everything is done - Joao Pedro is a new Chelsea player from Brighton for £55 million plus £5m in add-ons.
“In recent days, Jamie Gittens and Pedro to Chelsea are both done deals and confirmed.”
Liverpool latest
Liverpool have already been fairly active during the summer window so far, however Arne Slot's spending will not slow down, according to Romano. However, sales are also on the agenda at Anfield.
“Jarell Quansah has completed his medical to become a new Bayer Leverkusen player," Romano admitted. "£30m guaranteed fee plus £5m extra and Liverpool have a buy-back clause of €60m plus add-ons until valid for 2027.
“Liverpool will sign a defender this summer and one of the players they are seriously considering remains Marc Guehi. The conversations continue and there will be more contact this week.
“He is really appreciated by Liverpool, but Guehi wants some guarantees on playing time. Liverpool are currently presenting their vision and plans, and Guehi will not sign a new contract at Crystal Palace.
“It’s a big opportunity for Palace to sell the player this summer and Liverpool have the chance to attack the situation and get the player for a good transfer fee.”

Hugo Ekitike to secure Premier League move?
Romano also provided an update on Liverpool’s pursuit of Hugo Ekitike. “Liverpool are working on this deal and they are discussing the possibility of adding Ekitike to their squad,” he said.
“The idea of Liverpool is to have one more striker. They are waiting to see what happens with Darwin Nunez, with conversations ongoing with Napoli.
“Ekitike remains a name on Liverpool’s list, that’s for sure. Many rumours have linked Ekitike with Manchester United, but Man Utd will not pay €100m for the striker.
“Either Eintracht Frankfurt drop the price or this story for Man Utd is almost impossible."
Man Utd bombshells
Although Man Utd are unlikely to sign Ekitike this summer, they are still set to bolster their forward line.
“They are confident of signing Bryan Mbeumo and they will not invest crazy money on a striker," Romano said. "It has to be a good deal and a good opportunity.”
He continued: “It’s true that Man Utd made an enquiry for Ollie Watkins, they made a call to understand the situation. He’s one of the names under consideration. The interest in Watkins is confirmed.
“Man Utd were also offered the possibility to sign Jhon Duran from Al-Nassr on an initial loan deal covering his salary. But, they decided to turn down that possibility to focus on different targets and Man Utd are still advancing for Mbeumo.”

Marcus Rashford to leave Man Utd
However, Man Utd also need to offload several current stars and Marcus Rashford is one such player who is expected to depart Old Trafford on a permanent deal this summer.
“Marcus Rashford’s return to Man Utd from Aston Villa is now official - Villa will not trigger the £40m option to buy clause," Romano admitted.
“But, £40m remains the transfer fee wanted by Man Utd for any club in the world. At the moment he is back at Man Utd, but the club are trying to find a solution for Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony.”
Nico Williams to Barcelona update
Finally, Romano provided the latest state of play regarding Nico Williams' proposed move to Barcelona.
“I have millions of messages about the situation of Nico Williams because Barcelona fans keep asking.
“It’s true that Williams is asking for some guarantees on paper and this is what created some rumours over the last 24 hours. But, Barcelona’s intention remains to continue and proceed for Williams.
“Barcelona want to activate the deal and the agreement between Williams and Barcelona remains done. The six-year contract worth €6-7m net per season is done. Now they need to clarify the technical steps to pay the release clause.
“The camp of Nico Williams want guarantees on paper about the registration, but Barcelona want the player to trust them. The Nico operation continues.”
