Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given his latest insider information from the market, including a huge shock at Chelsea, the latest on Benjamin Sesko’s situation and what happened with Morgan Gibbs-White.
Joao Felix transfer hijack
Romano dropped a bomb by explaining that Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are ready to hijack Benfica’s move for Joao Felix.
He explained on his YouTube channel: “Benfica advanced for Joao Felix and were in daily contact with the agent of the player, Jorge Mendes, but also Chelsea. But there was no agreement on the numbers. In the last 24 hours, Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s team in the Saudi Pro League, have entered very strongly into the negotiations for Joao Felix.

“My information is that Al-Nassr are really, really close to signing Joao Felix. Everyone expects the deal to be done in the next 24 or 48 hours. It’s going to be a permanent transfer with an important contract to Joao Felix. He’s given the green light and he’s excited with the chance of playing with Ronaldo. He believes that coach Jorge Jesus can help him find consistency and get him to the World Cup in 2026.
“For Chelsea, they’ve been working to find a solution to Joao Felix after he returned from a loan at AC Milan.
“I don’t think the numbers will be the same as Benfica negotiated. I think it’s going to be a bit different. It’s a work in progress.
“If Joao Felix goes to Al-Nassr, it will probably mean that Luis Diaz is not moving to Saudi. That’s one more piece to add to our puzzle. Bayern are still interested and are ready to push hard for a player who wants to leave Liverpool this summer.”
Nicolas Jackson to leave Chelsea?
Romano says that there remains a strong chance that Chelsea will also sell Nicolas Jackson this summer. Several Premier League clubs are following developments.
“Keep a close eye on Nicolas Jackson,” he said. “There are now several clubs trying to accelerate the situation with people close to the player.
“We know he’s a possibility for Man Utd, one of several names they have on their shortlist for the striker, but nothing’s advanced club-to-club. We know he’s on the list at Aston Villa and Newcastle. At Newcastle, we know the priority is Benjamin Sesko.
“But for Nicolas Jackson, leaving Chelsea this summer is a concrete possibility. There’s nothing advanced but it’s one to watch.”

What happened with Morgan Gibbs-White?
In one of the most remarkable turnarounds of the summer, Morgan Gibbs-White will stay at Nottingham Forest. Romano has explained exactly what happened behind the scenes.
“Morgan Gibbs-White is one of the craziest stories of the summer transfer window. Tottenham triggered his buyout clause two weeks ago. He was set to travel for his medical. But what happened?” he said.
“A few minutes before the player was preparing to go for his medical, Nottingham Forest told Tottenham, the Premier League and people close to the player, they were ready to take legal action over the methods of approach from Spurs. The negotiations went on standby. Spurs tried to make the deal work but now Morgan Gibbs-White has agreed a new deal with Nottingham Forest. He’s not going to Tottenham.”

Important days ahead for Sesko
Several clubs are seeking a centre-forward in the transfer market, and Sesko remains one of the biggest names up for sale. So what’s happening with the RB Leipzig hitman?
Romano revealed: “Next week will be important for the future of Benjamin Sesko. Newcastle are going very big, they have a contract proposal ready. They’re preparing to talk to RB Leipzig. They’re prepared to make an important offer. They’ll go big next week.”
“Manchester United are still discussing Sesko. But don’t forget the gentleman’s agreement I told you about. For some clubs, indicating by Sesko as ‘special’ clubs for him, the price could be €70-80m fixed plus €5-10m in add-ons. This could be an important factor.
“Keep an eye on this story. Newcastle will go big, Man Utd will discuss his name internally, with the coach involved in the conversation. They need to understand if they can make it happen.”

PSG find Donnarumma replacement
Champions League winners PSG could be on the verge of replacing one of their heroes of that campaign, with Italy international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma caught in transfer negotiations with the Parc des Princes club.
No deal has been agreed, and now Luis Enrique’s side are ready to make changes.
“Keep an eye on PSG for a goalkeeper. They still can’t agree a deal with Gianluigi Donnarumma with the goalkeeper. The situation is on total standby at the moment. They’re not extending the contract, which has one year left,” Romano said.
“PSG have reached an agreement with Lucas Chevalier. A deal is ready on the player’s side. Now PSG are ready to make an offer to Lille, who have started to explore the market to find a new goalkeeper. It means there’s more than a concrete possibility for Chevalier leaving. In terms of personal agreement, it’s done.”
