Chelsea owners BlueCo have bolstered their relationship with Borussia Dortmund further as they have agreed a deal for Soumaila Coulibaly to move to Strasbourg, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Chelsea and Dortmund have been two of the main protagonists of this summer so far. The two clubs have been in constant contact ever since the initial Club World Cup window opened as the Blues eyed a deal for winger Jamie Gittens.

An agreement was finally reached last week, with Chelsea set to pay €65 million for the England youth international. However, talks between the two clubs have continued as there is interest from Dortmund in Blues youngster Josh Acheampong and midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka.

Acheampong has decided to stay at Stamford Bridge, but Chukwuemeka is expected to leave Chelsea. Dortmund, who have already struck a deal to extend his six-month loan for the duration of the Club World Cup, are in talks to keep him for the full season.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Dortmund would like a purchase option that is significantly lower than the €35m clause they currently have. The German club are convinced that Chukwuemeka will soon overcome his injury issues and develop into a real star.

Strasbourg strike Coulibaly deal

Meanwhile, Chelsea owners BlueCo and Dortmund have thrashed out a deal for defender Soumaila Coulibaly to trade Germany for France, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The France youth international spent the past season on loan at Stade Brest after struggling to break into the BVB first team and is now set to join Strasbourg in a €8.5 million deal.

Coulibaly has signed a five-year contract and will replace Mamadou Sarr, who has joined Chelsea. Interestingly, Romano has gone out of his way to emphasise that this is a deal purely involving Strasbourg and not Chelsea.

"Deal in place between clubs, not a loan from Chelsea but a direct move to Strasbourg," the transfer insider wrote on X. Coulibaly currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €10.9m, so the Alsatians are getting a good deal.
