Chelsea have 'UNLIMITED transfer budget' as Maresca set for summer spending spree

Chelsea reportedly have an “unlimited transfer budget” to spend this summer due to the clever financial work of the club’s owners.
The Blues have been heavily criticised for their transfer policy since the arrival of Clearlake Capital in 2022, but their strategy has been backed by data and they are now in an extremely healthy financial position, despite their ludicrous spending on new signings.
Chelsea have spent over €1.5 billion on transfers over the past three years, however a number of smart tactics have allowed the club to steer well clear of any breaches of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
In fact, Chelsea currently boast the best PSR situation of any club in the Premier League. As a result, the Blues have the ability to spend as they see fit this summer.
That is according to finance expert Adam Williams, who told The Chelsea Chronicle: “I think the limit of Chelsea’s ambitions depends on little else than how deep the owners’ pockets are at the moment. In effect, if the owners want to spend, they have an unlimited transfer budget.
“The Premier League haven’t been able to close the intra-company deals loophole that saw Chelsea sell the women’s team and the hotels at Stamford Bridge.
“They have got other tangible assets they can use in similar deals, so until that route is exhausted and the loophole closed, Premier League PSR isn’t going to be an issue for them.”

Who will Chelsea sign this summer?
With an “unlimited transfer budget”, Chelsea are expected to be extremely active in the market this summer, although reports indicate they will soon focus on player sales due to the plethora of stars currently at Enzo Maresca’s disposal.
The Blues have already completed the signings of Liam Delap, Estevao Willian, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Kendry Paez so far this summer, while they are on the verge of announcing Brighton & Hove Albion’s Joao Pedro and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens as their latest arrivals.
A new defender could be targeted if Chelsea are able to offload the likes of Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga and Axel Disasi, although the club appear to have ended their interest in signing a new goalkeeper.
