Arsenal Transfer News Today: Gyokeres DONE as Romano teases next deal
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Cristhian Mosquera.
Gyokeres deal agreed
Arsenal have finally managed to reach a full agreement to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres after weeks of tough negotiations with their Portuguese counterparts.
Gyokeres accused Sporting of reneging on an agreement to let him leave for €70 million, which dragged out the negotiations with Arsenal. The Gunners will now pay €63.5m plus €10m in add-ons.
Gyokeres will travel to complete his medical and then sign a five-year contract before linking up with Arsenal's squad, which is currently in Asia for a pre-season tour.
Arsenal not done yet
Arsenal are not done yet in the transfer market after signing Gyokeres, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who believes that there is more business to be done.
Securing Gyokeres was Arsenal's absolute top priority heading into the summer window, but there is also scope for at least one more attacking reinforcement, Romano believes.
Eberechi Eze is a name still under consideration by Arsenal, although there have been no formal talks with Crystal Palace as things stand.
Mosquera on his way to Asia
Cristhian Mosquera is travelling to Asia to link up with Mikel Arteta's squad for pre-season after completing his transfer from Valencia, despite a late hiccup reportedly pertaining to his medical.
The Spanish defender joins Arsenal after they agreed a deal worth less than €20m with Valencia, where Mosquera had just a year left to run on his contract.
Mosquera previously had an agreement with RB Leipzig, but the two clubs couldn't agree a fee, which allowed Arsenal to swoop for the youngster.
Timber wants Arsenal move
Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber is reportedly keen on a move to Arsenal this summer as he seeks to take the next step in his career. The Dutchman is the twin brother of Gunners defender Jurrien.
Timber only has a year to run on his current contract with the Rotterdam outfit and is said to be unwilling to commit to fresh terms.
“He doesn't want to extend his contract, which expires in 2026, and hopes for a reunion with his twin brother at Arsenal,” Dutch journalist Valentijn Driessen claims.
