Viktor Gyokeres picks his next club as he DELETES Sporting in ugly transfer saga twist

Viktor Gyokeres’ summer transfer window has turned into a soap opera, with the Sporting CP man embroiled in a battle with his club as Arsenal and Manchester United try to sign him.
Gyokeres picks his next club
Gyokeres has made his transfer decision, with the much-wanted striker having settled upon a move to the Premier League.
The Sporting CP hitman has found himself in the midst of an awkward wrangle with the Lisbon club over his transfer fee. On one hand, he believes they have gone back on an agreement to sell him for €60 million plus €10m in bonuses, while on the other the Portuguese giants are unhappy with the actions of his agent.
Should this be resolved, Gyokeres has his heart set on a move to Arsenal, according to TalkSport.
“I had a message 24 hours or so ago suggesting that Viktor Gyokeres has told friends and family he expects to join Arsenal,” chief correspondent Alex Crook explained.
“We know that Manchester United are interested in signing him as well, obviously there is that pre-existing relationship with Ruben Amorim. But Arsenal can offer Champions League football, maybe can offer a tilt at the title next season.”

A deal is far from concluded, though. Gyokeres’ issues with Sporting need resolved, while Arsenal have also yet to be convinced that the Sweden star is the player they want.
“Sporting are going to play hardball, there's been a fallout between Gyokeres and the club because his agent has suggested that they had a gentleman's agreement he could leave for £60 million, I think they're looking for nearer £80m,” Crook added.
“Arsenal are juggling both him and Benjamin Sesko, they've opened talks with Leipzig as well but at the moment, I would say Gyokeres looks the more likely.”
Juventus willing to clear squad out to fund move
Serie A side Juventus are doing all they can in their power to find a deal.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italians are willing to sell a series of players in order to push a transfer through.
Mattia Perin, Lloyd Kelly, Daniele Rugani, Filip Kostic, Samuel Mbangula, Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik are all candidates to leave in order for Juve to fund this deal.
With so many dominoes to fall, naturally, this is not on the horizon.
Sporting talks break down
Gyokeres has rejected the chance at clear-the-air talks with Sporting, Record reports, and now super agent Jorge Mendes has contacted Sporting in the hope of acting as an intermediary to resolve the dispute between the club and the player. A figure of great experience, he has worked with many of the game’s leading players, including Cristiano Ronaldo.
Although Mendes has had no previous connection with Gyokeres or agent Hasan Cetinkaya, his involvement in any deal will hearten Manchester United, as he historically has strong links with the Old Trafford side.
He is also well-connected at Sporting and is seeking to help in this delicate situation.
Instagram snub
Amid the discord with his current employers, Gyokeres has given Sporting the ultimate 2025 snub by deleting the Lisbon club from his Instagram biography.
Aftonbladet notes that the Sweden star once had Sporting on his biography but that has now been deleted. Reports in Portugal state that it has come about because of his frustration with the attitude of the Portuguese side.
It is another hint that he will soon be on his way.
