Man Utd target ‘very keen’ on move as transfer expert sends POSITIVE Champions League message

Manchester United have been given real hope that they can land the striker of Ruben Amorim’s dreams this summer.
Sporting CP No.9 Viktor Gyokeres has been one of the most talked-about players in the transfer market for months, but while interest from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea remains, it seems to be fading.
Man Utd are also ready to heavily invest in a centre-forward and given that the Sweden international star has worked successfully under Amorim previously in Portugal would appear to be a logical signing for the Old Trafford club.
Previous fears that Gyokeres might be against a deal have been allayed by football transfer expert Ben Jacobs, who says that the 27-year-old is open to a deal with the Mancunians.
“My understanding is that Viktor Gyokeres would be very keen on a move to Manchester United if they could pull that off, financially speaking,” he told The United Stand.
Jacobs also explained that Gyokeres has not set his heart on playing Champions League football next season, opening the possibility of a reunion with Amorim.
Although the value of the striker’s release clause stands at €100 million, he has a gentleman’s agreement in place with Sporting that will allow him to move for around €70m, despite netting 54 goals in 52 appearances for the club in all competitions last season, narrowly missing out on the Golden Shoe to Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe in the process.

How Gyokeres can fit in to Man Utd's transfer plans
United have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season, while they are currently chasing Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo.
With the Red Devils still some distance from the fee wanted by the Bees for the Cameroon international forward, they could well look elsewhere once more, and Gyokeres would doubtless come in for consideration.
GiveMeSport claims that Amorim is desperate to be reunited with the forward, having been left unhappy that the club targeted Ipswich’s Liam Delap previously – a transfer they missed out on to Chelsea.
In order for Man Utd to proceed with this deal, though, it is reported that at least one sale will need to be made.
