Man Utd Transfer News Today: Amorim willing to pay HUGE cost as Gyokeres opens door

All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Bryan Mbeumo, Viktor Gyokeres and Antony.
United given Gyokeres hope
Manchester United have been given real hope that they can land the striker of Ruben Amorim’s dreams this summer.
Previous fears that Gyokeres might be against a deal have been allayed by football transfer expert Ben Jacobs, who says that the 27-year-old is open to a deal with the Mancunians.
“My understanding is that Viktor Gyokeres would be very keen on a move to Manchester United if they could pull that off, financially speaking,” he told The United Stand.
However, any move will likely depend on outgoings first, with United not believed to be in talks with Sporting over a transfer as of yet.
United willing to meet Mbeumo wage demands
Man Utd are willing to meet Bryan Mbeumo’s wage demands despite the Brentford forward reportedly asking for around £250,000-per-week.
United submitted their first offer for Mbeumo this week, valued at £45m plus an additional £10m in add-ons, however this is expected to be rejected.

But Mbeumo is still likely to eventually seal a move to Old Trafford, with the 25-year-old keen on the move and a deal closer to £60m is expected to be agreed.
Other teams are believed to be interested, such as Newcastle, but Mbeumo is only understood to be keen on a move to Old Trafford.
Ten Hag ‘was not in favour’ of Antony signing
Erik ten Hag reportedly tried to stop Manchester United overpaying for Antony, according to a new book.
The revelation has been made by Kees Vos, co-founder of the Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) and Ten Hag's agent, says in the book ‘Liverpool en de Nederlanders’, written by Viaplay and Rijnmond presenter Bart Nolles.
"Ten Hag was not in favour of this and wanted to block the transfer," he it is claimed in quotes relayed by FCUpdate. "But the club wanted to push through the move at all costs because Arsenal were also showing interest in Antony. This created a significant risk of a stronger competitor.
"In the end, Manchester United paid almost €100 million for Antony. Although Ten Hag did not support this transfer, it stuck with him throughout his time in Manchester that he signed Ajax's attacker for this outrageous sum — a player who has never been able to live up to his promise."
Romano confirms Man Utd shake up
Manchester United are in the process of a major shakeup this summer, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that it has already begun with a major change at Old Trafford.
Romano reports that Jason Wilcox has been promoted to the position of director of football at the club, having led negotiations for transfers during that summer window.
Elsewhere, BBC Sport indicates that Sir Dave Brailsford, a long-time ally of Ratcliffe, is set to take a step backwards at Man Utd, who have made a difficult beginning to the INEOS era.
