Manchester United are ready to battle Bayer Leverkusen for Bournemouth attacker Justin Kluivert, according to a report.

The Dutchman is coming off a veritable breakout season with the Cherries. Always supremely talented, just like his famous father, Kluivert previously struggled to consistently perform at a high level.

However, in the bygone campaign, it was a different story as the 26-year-old was able to thrive under Andoni Iraola, contributing with an impressive 13 goals and eight assists.

His performances have seen Kluivert attract the attention of potential suitors, and earlier this week, it was reported that compatriot Erik ten Hag had taken a liking to the versatile attacker.

Ten Hag, now in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, is in the market for a replacement for Liverpool-bound Florian Wirtz. The Bundesliga side have also enquired about Man Utd's Alejandro Garnacho, but his price tag has forced them to look at more affordable options.

However, Leverkusen aren't the only side keen on the Dutchman, with CaughtOffside claiming that Ten Hag's former side Man Utd are also keeping tabs on Kluivert.

The Red Devils are starting to have concerns over Bryan Mbeumo, who is also being chased by Tottenham and who will be hugely expensive, and could pursue alternative targets such as Kluivert.

It is claimed that Bournemouth are demanding as much as €55 million for the attacker, but whether they are willing to lose him is doubtful considering that they are already at serious risk of being disassembled this summer.

Dean Huijsen has already departed for Real Madrid, while Milos Kerkez is thought to be on his way to Liverpool. PSG, meanwhile, are said to be making progress in talks over Ilya Zabarnyi, and then there is Antoine Semenyo, who is being courted by a host of clubs.
