Liverpool set Darwin Nunez price as enquiries fly in

Liverpool will not sell Darwin Nunez for less than €70 million this summer, according to a report.
The Uruguay international is expected to leave the Anfield club this summer after three underwhelming seasons, over the course of which his game time has gradually decreased.
Towards the end of the bygone season, Nunez was completely removed from Liverpool's XI, and it was soon speculated that this was to avoid having to send his former club Benfica additional bonus payments tied to his starts.
Head coach Arne Slot dismissed these claims, but it was blatantly evident that he had given up on the misfiring striker. In January, Liverpool engaged in transfer talks with Saudi side Al-Nassr over a potential €70 million sale of the 25-year-old.
Nunez was open to the move, and Liverpool seriously considered cashing in on him before ultimately deciding to wait until the end of the season so as not to disrupt squad harmony.
Liverpool set Nunez price
It would come as a major surprise to see Nunez donning the red of Liverpool next season, and enquiries are beginning to fly in for the striker. According to Saudi transfer expert Ben Jacobs, Al-Hilal approached him late in the Club World Cup window after being snubbed by Victor Osimhen.
Their Deadline Day approach ultimately yielded no results as they desperately scrambled to make marquee signings, only to end up landing nobody. Though the window is now closed, Saudi interest in Nunez remains.

However, Jacobs states that it is as yet unclear whether Al-Hilal will return for him in the second summer window, or if Al-Nassr could perhaps make another attempt at signing him, despite securing Jhon Duran in January and being close to extending Cristiano Ronaldo's contract.
It is also possible that another Saudi club receive the green light from central dealmakers to pursue a move for Nunez, who is open to a switch to the Middle East, although he would prefer staying in Europe.
Nunez is said to be keen on a move to Italy or Spain. Atletico Madrid are credited with a concrete interest in the Uruguayan, while Liverpool are actively looking for replacements.
The Reds are using the €70m Al-Nassr were prepared to pay in January as a yardstick for what they want to receive for Nunez this summer. They are also pointing to his respectable record as a starter - 25 goals and 13 assists in 49 games - to justify his price tag.
