Manchester United will be keenly watching Wednesday's Conference League final between Real Betis and Chelsea as they could financially benefit from the result.

The Red Devils sent €95 million flop Antony on loan to Real Betis in January, and the Brazilian has been nothing short of sensational for the Seville outfit. The 25-year-old has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 25 appearances for the LaLiga side.

Antony and Real Betis are now preparing for their last game of the season as they will take on Chelsea in the final of the Conference League on Wednesday evening.

Chelsea are the heavy favourites heading into the game, but Betis have defeated Real Madrid and taken points off Barcelona in LaLiga this season, so they will fancy their chances. Extra motivation will be provided by the fact that the Verdiblancos have, to date, never won a European trophy.

Beyond the chance for silverware - which would be Betis' first since winning the Copa del Rey in 2022 - the Spanish side could pocket a not-insignificant prize money of €7 million.

Man Utd to receive Antony windfall if Betis win

Should Betis indeed get the better of Chelsea, a small chunk of that prize money would have to be transferred to Man Utd, according to ABC Sevilla.

The Spanish outlet reports that success in the Conference League would entitle the Red Devils to €365,000 in bonus payments for Antony. This figure includes the €150,000 that Man Utd are already guaranteed to receive due to the winger playing at least 50 per cent of his available games.

It is also reported that Betis would have had to pay a sizeable €500,000 penalty fee had they not utilised Antony for a certain number of games, but this has become moot as he has been a key player in Manuel Pellegrini's side.

Man Utd would have also received an additional bonus had Betis managed to qualify for the Champions League, but a dip in form towards the end of the season meant that they only finished sixth and thus made it into the Europa League.
