Alvarez to Arsenal: Romano CONFIRMS interest as Sesko decision made

Arsenal would be well advised not to waste their time on Julian Alvarez as Atletico Madrid have no intention of selling him, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Argentina international has emerged as a target for the Gunners, who are desperately scrambling to add a reliable No.9 to their side. Alvarez has enjoyed a spectacular first season at Atletico Madrid and is fielding interest from England, where Liverpool are also keen.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that there is concrete interest in Alvarez from the Premier League, although he did not explicitly mention Arsenal or Liverpool.
"Atletico Madrid absolutely want to keep Julian," Romano told GIVEMESPORT. "There's interest from the Premier League, it's true for sure, but Atleti insist on keeping him." Arsenal would therefore be well advised to end their interest and focus on more attainable targets.
In recent weeks, Arsenal have homed in on Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, and for good reason. Both are gettable this summer, and Sesko in particular could be involved in a quick deal.
Leipzig expect Sesko to leave
According to BILD, RB Leipzig have omitted Sesko from their PR trip to Brazil so as to not jeopardise a potential transfer as the Slovenian has been dealing with a minor fitness issue in recent times.
Leipzig accept that Sesko will leave the club this summer, and serious talks with Arsenal have already taken place. Indeed, the Gunners have 'positioned themselves' to sign the 21-year-old, the report states.

The North London side already laid the groundwork for a move last summer, although they have focused more on Gyokeres in recent times. Nevertheless, a deal for Sesko remains possible, and Leipzig are certainly willing to negotiate.
Sesko has an €80 million release clause, but the Bundesliga side are open to a differently structured deal. However, they are keen to secure a premium fee for themselves are trying to push his price up to €100m - whether they will achieve this is doubtful, though.
