Arsenal awards 2024-25: Best & worst player, best & worst transfer, top scorer

After yet another season of promise, Arsenal were once again unable to claim a piece of major silverware for the fifth consecutive year.
Despite this, Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a strong season across all competitions and a number of players have excelled this term.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through our Arsenal awards for the 2024-25 season.
Arsenal’s Player of the Season
There are several legitimate contenders for this award - including Gabriel Magalhaes and Bukayo Saka - but we have chosen Declan Rice thanks to his immense form across the entire campaign.
The England international has been simply superb this season and he has flourished in a more advanced midfield role alongside Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard.
Rice has scored eight goals, including two stunning free-kicks against Real Madrid, and provided 10 assists in all competitions, at the time of writing, and his delivery from dead-ball situations has helped Arsenal become set-piece specialists.

Arsenal’s Flop of the Season
The vast majority of Arsenal’s first-team squad have performed incredibly well this campaign, but Raheem Sterling unfortunately stands out as their flop of the season.
He arrived on loan from Chelsea on Transfer Deadline Day, however he has been unable to establish himself as a regular at the Emirates Stadium, despite the fact that Mikel Arteta is a known admirer.
Sterling has only scored one goal in all competitions for the Gunners, while he has started just six Premier League matches this term.
Arsenal’s Best Transfer
After a successful loan stint at the club, David Raya joined Arsenal for €31.9m last summer and he has been the club’s best-performing new signing this season.
The Spaniard has made a couple of high-profile errors, however his form has been mostly impressive and he remains one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
Mikel Merino was also a worthy contender thanks to his performances as a makeshift striker, but Raya narrowly edged out his compatriot.
Arsenal’s Worst Transfer
Raheem Sterling has been Arsenal’s most underwhelming performer this campaign and he is therefore the lead candidate for the club’s worst transfer of the season.
Riccardo Calafiori and Merino have both been decent additions, but Sterling has been a major disappointment.
Arsenal will not sign him on a permanent deal this summer and his stock is at an all-time low as a result of his spell in north London.
Arsenal’s Top Scorer
Kai Havertz is currently Arsenal’s top scorer during the 2024-25 season with 15 goals across all competitions.
He has scored nine goals in the Premier League, four goals in the Champions League and two goals in the Carabao Cup.
