Man Utd to SMASH Pogba transfer record for Premier League sensation
Man Utd are ready to smash their club transfer record in order to sign Nottingham Forest sensation Elliot Anderson.
The Manchester World reports that Man Utd are ready to spend €114 million in order to bring in the England midfielder.
This fee would be a new club record and make Anderson the most expensive signing in the history of the club.
The current record is held by Paul Pogba, who Man Utd signed from Juventus for a then-world record fee of €105m.
Man Utd record move for Anderson
The report states that Anderson has become Man Utd's number one priority to strengthen their midfield in 2026.
United plan to sign a top class central midfielder and have shortlisted a number of names, including Brighton's Carlos Baleba, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Wolves' Joao Gomes.
But it is Anderson who United and manager Ruben Amorim has his eyes set on.
Anderson has been a revelation for Forest since joining from Newcastle last year for €41m and the 23-year-old is expected to be a big part of England’s squad at the World Cup next year.
Forest are expected to resist any offers for Anderson in January and will loikely only consider his sale next summer, when Liverpool and Man City are also expected to rival United for his signature.
But were United to make such a massive move in January, woould Forest be able to reject such an offer?
Newcastle are also desperate to bring back a player they only sold on the cheap for PSR reasons but they are resigned to missing out on him due to to the price tag being above their current scope.
