He says that Endrick has chosen to join Lyon and there is no chance of him moving anywhere else.

The Brazilian was attracted to Lyon because he wants guaranteed first team football, he feels comfortable working with a Portuguese-speaking manager in Paulo Fonseca and due to his idol Karim Benzema having played for the club.

Romano says that a transfer should be completed so he can join straight away on January 1, with only the share of the salary needing to be finalised between Real Madrid and Lyon.

There will be no permanent buy option in the loan move which will expire at the end of the season.

Endrick to leave Madrid on loan

Madrid considered loaning out the teenager during the summer transfer window but ended up keeping the attacker for the 2025/26 season.

However, Endrick has endured a miserable start to the current season and played just 11 minutes of football in all competitions.

Real Madrid still maintain their belief that Endrick can become a top player after he scored seven goals last season, but he will have more playing opportunities away from the Spanish capital.

He has been linked to a number of top European clubs, including Man Utd, Juventus and Milan.

But it is Lyon who have won the race for his loan signature.

Endrick hopes that a good second half to the season will also give him a chance of making it into the Brazil national team squad.

Endrick joined Real Madrid from Palmeiras in 2024 for a fee that could eventually reach €72 million.

At the time he was considered the brightest young talent in Brazilian football.

He has won 14 caps for Brazil and scored three times.
