Aston Villa are once again keen on Kieran Tierney, according to a report.

The Arsenal full-back is spending the season out on loan at Real Sociedad, but one could be forgiven about forgetting that he is still on the books in north London - or that he is still a footballer at all.

The Scot has been unable to overcome his injury problems, missing 15 games this season alone and 63 overall since joining Arsenal in 2019 for €27 million. This has seen his stocks tank, with his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) sitting at just €21.7m.

Arsenal are reportedly keen to offload Tierney this summer and are said to be asking for a fee in that region. However, Real Sociedad are unwilling to pay that much and break their transfer record in the process for the injury-prone left-back.

Only 26, Tierney still has a lot to give if only he can stay fit and it seems one Premier League club are willing to take the gamble on him.

Aston Villa still keen

According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa are still interested in Tierney ahead of the summer window. It is claimed that Tierney has already been informed that he will be sold this summer.

The report also states that the Gunners are asking for something closer to their original €27m outlay than the fee that had been touted in recent weeks. This means that Celtic, who are also keen on their ex-player, likely won't be able to move for him, leaving Villa as the favourites for his signature.

FootballTransfers already revealed in November 2023 that Villa are plotting a summer swoop for Tierney after being snubbed by Mikel Arteta last summer. The Basque was reportedly adamant that Tierney should join his former club in San Sebastian over the Birmingham side.

Unai Emery, the man who brought Tierney to the Emirates in 2019, is still a fan of his former player and wants to be reunited with him at Villa Park.
