Turkish outlet Fotomac reports that the Super Lig side had engaged in negotiations to secure the services of the former Tottenham and Ajax attacker, but Man Utd were not prepared to let him leave without more of his wages being paid.

The Red Devils were open to offers for the veteran over the winter window but he ended up staying. But it’s believed that Galatasaray were not able to convince Man Utd to continue to pay 80% of his wages.

Despite their efforts, the winter transfer window in Turkey closed on Friday without a move - however, it is disclosed that Galatasaray will make another move in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Eriksen, who joined Man Utd in the summer of 2022, is contracted until 2025. The Dane has recorded a goal and two assists from 19 appearances in the current season.

Eriksen snubbed interest from Newcastle to join Man Utd two summers proper. He made his return to the Premier League at Brentford, where he signed for a year as a free agent.

When his contract was up he decided not to rejoin the Bees, but instead look for other options.

After speaking to several clubs, Eriksen opted to join Erik ten Hag at Man Utd, acting as a versatile midfielder for the Dutchman last season where the club managed to qualify for the Champions League.
