Mason Greenwood has been attracting interest from a host of Europe’s top sides after finding his form in La Liga, with his future unlikely to lie at Manchester United.

Greenwood has been on loan with Getafe this season and has shown glimpses of returning to his best on the pitch, having grabbed five goal contributions in nine starts.

The 22-year-old’s performances have led to scouting from the likes of Barcelona and Getafe, according to talkSPORT, while other reports have suggested Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Dortmund are all monitoring his situation.

Greenwood still has 18 months remaining on his contract with United and, while the Premier League side have an option to extend for another year, they will likely look to cash in on the forward.

United announced in the summer that Greenwood’s career would continue ‘away from Old Trafford’ after seeing charges of assault against him dropped earlier this year.

The academy graduate had not played for United since January last year, when he was initially arrested, and the club had mooted the idea of reintegrating him back into the first team but they reversed their decision following backlash from fans.

How much could Man Utd make from selling Greenwood?

The interest in Greenwood appears to be ramping up at a time when it was revealed that Getafe would have a 20% sell-on clause on any fee United receive for the youngster.

The Spanish side are hoping to extend his stay with the club, either on loan or permanently, but they look to benefit regardless after taking a chance on Greenwood during the summer when United were struggling to generate offers for him.

Although fees have not been discussed for Greenwood as of yet, Lazio have been linked with a loan offer with an option or obligation to make the move permanent for €15 million, perhaps indicating how much United could generate with a sale.

A decision is unlikely to be made until next summer once Greenwood’s loan with Getafe expires but a return into the United fold has all but been ruled out due to the controversy still surrounding him in England.
