West Ham are looking at Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a possible target amid Vladimir Coufal’s uncertain future at the club, FootballTransfers can reveal.

The Hammers are looking at the right-back after they expressed interest in acquiring his services during the summer transfer window, but the move was thwarted by Erik ten Hag, who wanted to keep the player owing to his brilliant displays halfway through the season last term.

We are told that a January move for Wan-Bissaka could be on the cards despite interest from his former club, Crystal Palace.

It is thought that a move to West Ham is a more enticing prospect for Wan Bissaka than a return to the Eagles, where he spent three seasons.

West Ham are also actively pursuing Wolves’ Nelson Semedo as a potential replacement for Coufal.

The ambition is to bring in a right-back in the upcoming window for the Irons or they have to extend Coufal's contract, a move that they are keen to avoid. Negotiations with Ben Johnson, the club's other right-back, have also hit a stumbling block, we are told, as the club and player remain some distance apart in agreeing terms of the deal.

Sources indicate that Johnson is unhappy with the details of the contract proposed by West Ham and may be tempted to leave in search of better wages and guaranteed playing time.

Wan Bissaka missed Man Utd’s game against Luton Town, a 1-0 win, despite recently returning to the side after a hamstring injury.

He had played the full 90 minutes against Fulham and Copenhagen in the last seven days. "Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] is ill, so we have to make a change, but that’s how it is. They know the rules and the principles. Now they have to show it on the pitch," Ten Hag told MUTV.
