Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Corinthians wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo for €26 million, according to sensational reports from Brazil.

Moscardo, 18, has been linked with a Premier League for some time, with Arsenal and Liverpool also interested in signing him following his breakout onto the senior stage in South America.

However, Chelsea have reportedly won the race to sign the midfielder, as per Corinthians presenter and former player Neto.

In a show on YouTube, Neto revealed that Chelsea have agreed a €26m deal to sign Moscardo, while also admitting that this deal is the reason why the Brazilian teenager did not play in Corinthians’ most recent match.

News of the agreement follows a report from Goal Brasil, who reported that Chelsea had lodged a €25m bid, including bonus payments, for Moscardo. That was expected to be knocked back, as per the report, but it appears as though Chelsea have reached an agreement to land one of the most promising young central midfielders in world football.

Moscardo has made 23 senior appearances for Corinthians and the reported €26m fee would be a club record sale for the Brazilian giants.

Chelsea’s wonderkid signings

If Moscardo is Chelsea-bound, then he will become the latest wonderkid midfielder to join the club in the past year.

Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer were signed during the most recent window too, and are both capable of playing in attacking midfield.

Furthermore, fellow Brazilian talents Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington also joined Chelsea this summer, although the former is currently on loan at Strasbourg and the latter is yet to start a competitive game for the Blues.
