Arsenal and Liverpool dealt major Pedro Neto blow

Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto has admitted that he is happy at Molineux, despite transfer interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Portuguese winger has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season and currently has the joint-most assists in the division in 2023-24, along with Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier (six).

FootballTransfers understand that Arsenal are now stepping up their interest in Neto in order to ease Bukayo Saka’s workload, while Liverpool have also added the Wolves man to their 2024 transfer wish-list.
However, in an interview with The Telegraph, Neto admitted that he isn’t pushing to leave Wolves right now, while the Midlands-based club have no intention of selling the 23-year-old during the January transfer window.

What has Pedro Neto said?
“I want to say that I am here and I will help everyone,” Neto told Telegraph Sport. “I love the club and everybody here, I have always felt that it has given a lot to me.
“I’m enjoying the moment here so I will continue to do that. The future and long-term ambitions don’t matter. We will never go down in any situation, we are here to win and fight. I feel really good at the moment and hope to continue.”
Wolves currently sit 12th in the Premier League table, with 11 points from their opening nine matches. Neto’s form has been pivotal this season and they don’t plan to sell him to either Liverpool or Arsenal.
Neto himself has admitted that he is now back to his best following an ankle injury that saw him miss 27 games last season.
“I feel even better than I was before,” the Portuguese star continued. “A player that has confidence is a different player: I always had it but Gary [O’Neil] has given me even more,” he says.
“I play football because I love it, but the game is what it is because of the fans. When I get the ball and they are pushing me and expecting something special, it’s such a good feeling.”
“To have your value and hard work recognised by people like that is the most important thing in football,” says Neto. “When you start to show people what you can do, it’s a very proud moment. I’m always asked if I prefer playing on the left or right.
“When I’m on the left I would be more vertical, but on the right I have more options: bringing the ball to the middle or going outside. I always say that if I’m running on the pitch I’m happy! I will play in any position. I don’t feel any difference.”
Both Arsenal and Liverpool have lined Neto up as an option on the right-wing, with the Gunners viewing him as a Saka rotator, while Jurgen Klopp’s side see him as a potential Mohamed Salah replacement.
