Man Utd Transfer News Today: Bruno Fernandes rejects new deal as exit concerns increase
All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Bruno Fernandes, Marc Casado and Igor Matanovic.
Fernandes rejects new deal
Bruno Fernandes has reportedly rejected Man Utd's new contract offer.
At the moment, the Portuguese midfielder's contract will expire next summer and the club is concerned that they may lose him as a free agent a year from now, reports Sacha Tavolieri.
United want to keep Fernandes beyond next year and the situation became more desperate this week as Galatasaray have made their interest known in the attacking midfielder.
The Telegraph reported that they were preparing a €50 million bid for the United captain as well as offering a significant increase in wages.
Man Utd subsequently offered him an extra €500k a year to sign an extended contract - an offer he rejected.
United offered Casado
The Red Devils have been offered the chance to sign Marc Casado from Barcelona for €30m.
The club have already recruited two new midfielders this summer in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans but Michael Carrick wants more central reinforcements and Casado has been linked with an Old Trafford switch for some time.
Spanish outlet Sport reports that the young Spaniard has been informed by head coach Hansi Flick that he has fallen down the midfield pecking order following the acquisition of Rodri from Man City.
He was previously linked with Chelsea as well as United.
Rashford will only leave for an elite club
Marcus Rashford will only leave Man Utd this summer if an opportunity comes from another top European club, according to Sky Sports.
The 28-year-old returned to action for United for the first time since December 2024 during their 4-2 pre-season defeat to AC Milan last Saturday. He came off the bench in the second half as United were beaten by their former manager, Ruben Amorim, in Poland.
Despite featuring in the club’s final warm-up game ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, uncertainty continues to surround his future at Old Trafford.
After Barcelona opted against signing Rashford on a permanent basis, he has been forced to return to Man Utd.
Wages have proved a stumbling block to a potential departure so far, with his salary reportedly standing at around €379,000 (£325,000) per week.
Everton to block Ndiaye departure
Manchester United have been warned that Everton are unwilling to entertain offers for Iliman Ndiaye unless they reach a substantial figure, according to The Times.
United have shown an interest in the 26-year-old as they continue to explore options to bolster their wide attacking positions before the transfer window shuts in September.
However, Everton are reportedly demanding at least €82million before they would even consider parting ways with Ndiaye.
Even at that price, a deal would be difficult to complete, with Everton manager David Moyes understood to be against the idea of selling the forward this summer.
Collyer away to West Brom
Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer, with talks reportedly underway over a permanent move to Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion, reports the BBC.
The 22-year-old already knows the club well, having spent the first half of last season on loan at The Hawthorns before switching to Hull City on another temporary deal in January. Now, negotiations are taking place over a potential return to West Brom on a permanent basis.
Collyer’s contract situation could also help facilitate the transfer, as he has less than a year remaining on his current United deal. The Red Devils are consequently willing to consider a sale rather than risk losing the midfielder for nothing when his contract expires in July 2027.
