Football Manager 2024 is here, with an all-new rating database for fans of the popular game to get their hands on.
As ever, Football Manager is the go-to place for football fans to build a club in their image, signing young talents and watching them develop into world-beaters.
Starting with clubs such as Real Madrid or Manchester City will give you a huge budget in FM24, although most fans of the game prefer starting with a smaller club and helping them rise up the divisions to glory.
While signing the best players in the world is possible with the biggest clubs, if you choose to manage a smaller team, then you’ll have to be far smarter with your transfer budget.
As a result, free transfer signing may prove crucial in your save. The free agent market remains fruitful at the beginning of Football Manager 2024, but you may have to act fast before these players find a new club.
Below, FootballTransfers lists the best free agents currently available to sign on Football Manager 2024, as per renowned Football Manager website FMScout.
They have rated the best free agents available to buy, with any player rated 80 or higher believed to be have the ability to become a key player for a Premier League team.

Former Manchester United and West Ham United Jesse Lingard is judged to be the best free agent available to buy on Football Manager 2024.
The ex-England international recently spent time training in Saudi Arabia, but it did not lead to a contract offer and he is therefore still unemployed. He spent the 2022-23 season with Nottingham Forest, but mustered less than 1,000 minutes of Premier League action all year as Steve Cooper favoured other options.
Lingard has 32 England caps to his name, but he can be picked up on a Bosman deal in this year's edition of Football Manager.
The attacking midfielder is rated 83 by FMScout, which is the same as Javier Pastore and Fabio Quagliarella.
They have both been a free agents since leaving Qatar SC and Sampdoria in July.
Luan Silva and Diego Perotti have been rated 82 by FMScout, while former Levante midfielder Jose Campana is 81 rated. The Spaniard made over 200 appearances for Levante before leaving this summer.
His compatriot David de Gea has also been rated 81 by FMScout after he left Man Utd following the expiration of his contract. The veteran 'keeper has been linked with a return to Old Trafford following Andre Onana's poor start to life at the club, but a move back to Man Utd seems unlikely.
