Some of the Manchester United support have demanded the re-signing of free agent David de Gea after what they perceived to be a mistake by Andre Onana.

The goalkeeper signed from Inter over the summer period, with De Gea, the then-longest serving player, running down his contract and leaving. The Spaniard remains without a club and, indeed, some fans have implored Man Utd to bring him back after Onana opted not to come out and claim a ball that ultimately led to a goal for Crystal Palace.

The ball was swung into the box from a free-kick but Onana decided to stay on his line. Joachim Andersen was there to volley the ball home and put the visitors ahead at Old Trafford.

Online, some bemoaned Onana’s decision-making, saying that he should have come off his line and caught the ball.

Not only this, but it is thought that Onana should have made a better attempt to save the ball, given the shot was directed right at the keeper.
