Chelsea fans are crying out for Victor Osimhen after Nicolas Jackson's latest big miss.

The 22-year-old arrived from Villarreal in the summer to plenty of fanfare after ending last season in red-hot form. Many believed that the €37 million man would solve the Blues' scoring issues and the hype seemed to have been justified as the Senegalese striker impressed in pre-season.

But ever since the actual competitive games started, Jackson has found it tough going. He is still contributing well overall and getting into decent scoring positions - which suggests that he will eventually come good - but his finishing has let him down this season.

Against Aston Villa, Jackson spurned arguably Chelsea's best chance of the game and this has left some quarters of the Blues faithful infuriated and crying out for change.

Chelsea fans want Osimhen

Many Chelsea supporters on Reddit believe that Napoli star Victor Osimhen would be the ideal replacement for Jackson. The Nigerian sharpshooter had been linked with Chelsea in the summer, but he was still very much committed to Napoli at that point.

His recent outburst at coach Rudi Garcia amid Napoli's poor form may have shaken some things up in Naples and perhaps a move is more likely to materialise in January or the summer. Chelsea fans will certainly hope so.

One supporter, who posted a video of Jackson's miss, told Todd Boehly to "send Napoli a blank cheque for Victor Osimhen." Signing him would add to Chelsea's ridiculous spending since the Boehly takeover because one thing is clear: he won't come cheap.

Napoli rejected an offer north of €120m from Saudi Arabia in the summer and there were reports that the Serie A giants could demand as much as €200-250m for their striker.

The data suggest that Chelsea fans should keep faith in Nicolas Jackson, but the need for immediate results may force the club to dip into the market for yet another marquee signing in January. The pressure is mounting at Stamford Bridge.
