Barcelona to complete DOUBLE transfer thanks to 'pro-Barca' clauses

Barcelona are confident of being able to sign Dani Olmo and Bernardo Silva because of the 'pro-Barca' release clauses they have in their new contracts.

The Blaugrana are long-time admirers of both players and both are reportedly keen on making the switch to Catalonia, but the club's financial problems have thus far made any potential deals impossible.

With the chances of signing for Barcelona slim this year, Dani Olmo signed a new RB Leipzig contract early in the summer and Bernardo Silva later followed suit, extending his Manchester City deal despite being quite open about wanting a new challenge.

Yet neither the players nor Barcelona have given up on their dream of linking up eventually, according to Spanish media. And the reigning Spanish champions are said to be heartened by the clauses in the players' new contracts.

Can Barcelona afford one or even both?

That's at least according to Mundo Deportivo, which claims that "both put release clauses in their new contracts, thinking about a possible departure next summer towards Barcelona."

"...seeing Barca's delicate economic situation," the report continues, "Bernardo agreed to extend his contract with City but only for one season...with a clause marked at £50 million (around €58.5m at the current exchange rate), a price well below the amount at which City had valued him, between €80m and €100m."

"Olmo also signed with a release clause seeing as though Leipzig were selling their players for astronomical prices this summer. Thus, he set a price of €60m."

How exactly Barcelona, who are still mired in financial difficulties, could muster the resources to sign one or even both of these midfielders - and potentially Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo permanently - the Spanish outlet did not disclose.

The club still have not received the €20m German company Libero was to contribute at the end of August which meant that Joan Laporta and the board had to fund Barcelona's Deadline Day business themselves.
