Liverpool could lose three players to Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad, who audaciously continue to pursue Mo Salah.

Joe Gomez has also been linked with a move to the Jeddah-based club, who have already signed Fabinho from the Reds this summer (while Jordan Henderson left Anfield for Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq).

Now, yet another Liverpool player is being touted for a switch to Al-Ittihad: Gomez’s fellow defender Ibrahima Konate.

That’s according to Fabrice Hawkins of French outlet RMC, who claims that the two-time Asian champions – who are currently managed by former Tottenham and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo – have set their sights on the France centre-back after failing to land Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

Last week, it was reported that Salah had agreed a deal to join Al-Ittihad – but Liverpool have insisted that their star man is not for sale.

And the player himself has shown no sign of downing tools for Jurgen Klopp’s side, playing a key role in Sunday’s dramatic 2-1 Premier League victory away to Newcastle – where he assisted Darwin Nunez’s stoppage-time winner as the Reds battled back from 1-0 down with 10 men.

Konate still in Klopp's plans

Konate, meanwhile, missed that game through injury; the 24-year-old – who joined Liverpool as a free agent in 2021 after leaving RB Leipzig – had played the full 90 minutes in each of the Reds’ first two games of the campaign.

As for Gomez, he has been restricted to substitute appearances so far, coming on against Newcastle following Virgil van Dijk’s red card midway through the first half.
