Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Eintracht Frankfurt about midfielder Jesper Lindstrom.

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed last month that the Denmark international, 23, wants to leave Eintracht this summer.

Newcastle and Tottenham have also been linked with Lindstrom, but it is the Gunners and Reds who appear most keen as things stand.

According to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet (via the Express), Arsenal and Liverpool have both been in touch with Eintracht to express their interest in Lindstrom – who joined the Bundesliga outfit from Brondby two years ago.

Our in-house Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) model currently rates Lindstrom at €29.7m (£25.5m), although it is thought likely to take almost double that to entice Eintracht to sell.

Away from the Premier League, Lindstrom is also believed to be on the radar of Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan – while RB Leipzig reportedly had a €25m bid rejected earlier this summer.

Are Liverpool leading the race to land Lindstrom?

Lindstrom has made 77 appearances for Eintracht in all competitions, helping them to Europa League glory in 2021/22 – having won the Danish title in his final season at Brondby.

He was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Season in his debut campaign in the German top flight – where he has contributed nine goal involvements in each of the last two seasons (12 goals, 6 assists).

Liverpool may have an advantage in the race for Lindstrom – thanks to their recently appointed sporting director Jorg Schmadtke, who has worked extensively in German football.

The Reds are currently looking at alternatives to Romeo Lavia, amid disagreements with Southampton over their valuation of the midfielder, although Lindstrom – who has earned 10 caps for Denmark – would fulfil a different, more attacking role.
