Folarin Balogun has made it clear to Arsenal what he wants ahead of the new season.

It is widely expected that the Gunners will sell Balogun this summer should they receive the right offer for the United States international.

A key reason for this is because there is little space for Balogun in Arsenal’s first team, with Gabriel Jesus the number one choice in the striker position.

Inter Milan have made Balogun one of their main options for the attack this summer after they pulled out of the running for Romelu Lukaku.

And Balogun himself has made it clear his intentions as he stresses that he wants to play regularly in the 2023-24 season, for whomever that that may be.

What did Balogun say?

“I mean, I want to play as well. We’ll have to see what happens,” Balogun told AFTV when asked about the season ahead.

This has naturally further fuelled talk of a sale.

Sky Sports UK reported last week that Arsenal have increased their asking price for the striker to €60 million.

It had been expected that Balogun would be available for much less this summer, with the Italian media quoting a figure of around €40m.

But English Sky claims that the Gunners actually want much more in order to part ways with the United States star.

This is likely to decrease the number of suitors for Balogun, particularly in Italy.

Inter are unlikely to be able to or prepared to pay what Arsenal are asking for Balogun and have thus looked at other strikers also, like Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

Balogun spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Stade de Reims and was one of the best players in Ligue 1, scoring 21 league goals.
