Marcel Sabitzer has rediscovered his form since joining Manchester United, and the Austrian is keen on staying beyond this summer.

The 29-year-old is happy at Manchester United after a tough time at Bayern Munich. Despite being coached by his former RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann, the midfielder found regular game time in his preferred role hard to come by in Bavaria.

In January, the decision was made to go out on loan, and Manchester United proved willing takers with Erik ten Hag keen to add depth to the centre of the park. Since joining, Sabitzer has been 'revitalised' in the words of former Red Devils and current Austria boss Ralf Rangnick. Indeed, Ten Hag has turned Sabitzer back into the outstanding performer he was at RB Leipzig.

Sabitzer has thus far made 11 appearances, chipping in with a goal and an assist. Unsurprisingly, then, reports are now suggesting that the Austrian is keen on extending his stay at Old Trafford beyond this summer.

Sabitzer keen, Ten Hag not so much

According to Austrian journalist Peter Linden, Sabitzer is loving life at Old Trafford and his agent has even 'assured' him that a permanent move is on the cards. Nevertheless, Linden also claims that Erik ten Hag is 'showing no signs' of wanting to keep Sabitzer at this point.

Sabitzer's performances have aroused interest from other Premier League sides and a return to Bayern is becoming increasingly unlikely despite Nagelsmann's sacking, claims Sky Austria. Approaches have apparently already been made, though Sky wouldn't name any specific clubs.

It looks as though the 29-year-old will stay in the Premier League beyond this summer, but whether it will be with United or someone else remains to be seen - and is ultimately up to Erik ten Hag. Bayern reportedly want at least €20 million for their loans star.
