Bidders for Manchester United are growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of response from the Glazer family, who have not provided any update since the submission of second bids over two weeks ago.

The Daily Mail reports that there are concerns that if the Glazers accept an offer for full control, the chosen buyer may not have sufficient time to oversee the summer transfer window.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe's group and Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani lodged their second bids on March 23 and 24 respectively, after being given extended deadlines.

Despite expectations of a response within seven days, the lack of movement has caused frustration and annoyance among the parties.

Transfer window feared to be hampered

If Sheikh Jassim's bid for Manchester United is successful, he has announced his intention to invest heavily in the club. This could mean significant funds being made available to manager Erik ten Hag to reshape the squad in the summer window. The Glazers have not yet revealed their next move after receiving bids in the region of £5billion, while seeking £6bn.

They could choose to enter into exclusivity with one bidder or initiate a third round of bidding. Some believe that the lack of movement suggests they are exploring all options to drive the price up.

Apart from the two bidders for full control, other groups, including US outfit Elliott Investment Management, have offered cash for a partial stake. United would require between £1bn and £2bn for stadium redevelopment, training ground upgrades, or the construction of a new stadium.

Should the Glazers decide to remain, they may face backlash from supporters who have been calling for their sale, with anti-Glazer chants and banners already commonplace at games.
