Erling Haaland’s agent has dampened Real Madrid’s hopes of purchasing the striker from Manchester City.

The towering forward signed to the Premier League side from Borussia Dortmund for £51.2 million last summer and has so far scored 33 goals in 33 games.

The 22-year-old’s deal does not expire until June 2027 but there have been links between Haaland and Los Blancos over a possible transfer before then.

But his agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has cast doubt over any movement anytime soon.

She said, as per Fabrizio Romano: “To prepare big moves it could take 2/3 years as you’ve to be in touch with clubs & prepare the budget, also for Haaland deal was the same”

“Haaland wanted City move to follow his father’s steps, strongly wanted to work under Pep Guardiola”.

The Brazilian lawyer, who took over the clients of Mino Raiola when he passed away last year, also spoke, via I Paper, about how Man City went about the purchase of Haaland last year, saying that though the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona were keen at the time, a massive pull was working under Pep Guardiola, while father, Alf-Inge Haaland, played for the club for three years.

“Erling went to City because — you’d have to ask him, but my opinion is that there’s such a history of this family with City. You see pictures of Erling as a baby in the City jersey.

"So I find it only natural that he would to experience what his father experienced. And of course, very much above that is the fact he wanted to be with Guardiola.”

The 'Real' clause

Pimenta’s comments come after Alfe-Inge claimed that his son will only stay at the Etihad Stadium for, ‘for three or four years at the most’.

Haaland’s current side have previously denied there is any clause in his deal which would allow Real Madrid clause to buy him out.

Real’s move for Kylian Mbappe last summer came to a grinding halt after he penned a fresh deal with Paris Saint-Germain, leading to further suggestions they will look to Haaland instead.
