Manchester United have been given a clear path to move for one of Erik ten Hag’s top targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have been targeting Inter star Denzel Dumfries and Ten Hag has been keen to add a right-back to his side.

Diogo Dalot has made the position his own this season and Aaron Wan-Bissaka has improved drastically over the course of the campaign to deputize well.

Despite that, Ten Hag wants to improve in that area and is eyeing up a move for the Dutch international in the near future.

Man Utd can move for Dumfries

The path is clear for Ten Hag and Manchester United to make a move for Dumfries as other clubs interested in him have moved for other players.

Chelsea and Tottenham were the others interested in the Inter man but they have signed Malo Gusto and Pedro Porro instead.

Now, Tuttosport suggest Manchester United can move for Dumfries for a fee of around €60 million and Inter will not stand in their way if that price is met.

Additionally, they have reported that Inter have identified an able replacement for Dumfries in Canadian star Tajon Buchanan, who currently plays in Belgium with Club Brugge.

Inter think they can fund a transfer for Buchanan for about €25 million and will use the funds from the Dumfries sale to get a deal over the line, beating off interest from Leeds United in the process.

Manchester United were interested in Dumfries last year as well but had other priorities in the transfer window, hence why a move for him was not made as the Red Devils spent their money on bettering other positions.

They will have other targets this year as well, but should they be able to attract new ownership, they may have more spending power to sign plenty of players.
