Manchester City to offer Erling Haaland a new deal already?

Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has had a flying start to life with the club, having already netted 20 goals in 14 appearances for them since the start of the season.
The Norwegian joined the club in the summer from Borussia Dortmund, ruling out any drawn-out transfer saga, and has shown why he is considered one of the world’s best early on.
Haaland is on course to break various records at a club level and wider Premier League scale and is showing why the English champions were keen to quickly move for him in the window.

Now, amid rumours of a future move away from Manchester City, there is talk of a new contract despite Haaland having a fair amount of time before his deal runs out.

Haaland signed a five-year deal at Manchester City that runs until the summer of 2027, but there is believed to be a release clause for non-Premier League clubs in the summer of 2024 of around €200 million.
The likes of Real Madrid are monitoring the situation with a view to a move in the future, and could be tempted to pay that clause to bring him to the Spanish capital.

Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has spoken about the possibility new contract talks: “I hope so! If they want to discuss today, we'd be happy. Why not? Always good!”

Pimenta took over the Mino Raiola empire following the super-agent’s death earlier in the year and has been managing players like Haaland and Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid see Haaland as a real possibility in 2024, which is also when they plan to extend Karim Benzema’s contract and see the Norwegian as the ideal successor for the Ballon d’Or holder.
Whether City make the move to extend Haaland’s deal remains to be seen, as they look to build a dominant side for the coming years.
