Man Utd ‘a circus again’ after Ronaldo transfer speculation

Patrice Evra has claimed that Manchester United are a 'circus' amid speculation of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club.

Ronaldo impressed in his return to Old Trafford last season, scoring 18 Premier League goals, but is not in new manager Erik ten Hag's plans.

The Portugal international has been limited to Europa League action in recent weeks.

Now it is likely that Ronaldo leaves in January, having failed to find a new club in the summer transfer window.

And United legend Evra hopes that he leaves the Premier League, as he wishes not to see Ronaldo in the colours of a rival club.

''I don’t want to see Ronaldo in another shirt other than a Man United shirt,'' the Frenchman told Betfair.

''If he is to go I want him to go abroad, I don’t want him to go to another team in the Premier League.

''I want him to be happy, back scoring and challenging [Lionel] Messi every single year. I wish him the best if he goes but I can’t imagine him in another club’s shirt.

''I’ve read reports saying United will let Ronaldo leave in January. It’s a circus again. We’re back to what we’ve done all those years, I don’t understand it.''

Ronaldo to Galatasaray?

Reports in Turkey have suggested that Galatasaray could represent a surprise option for Ronaldo, with the Super Lig outfit hoping to go ‘all out’ to secure the ‘biggest transfer in Turkish history’.

The claim by Fotomac suggests that Ronaldo ruled out a move to Galatasaray in the summer as they also did not qualify for the Champions League.

But club director Erden Timur is said to be in constant communication with the forward’s representatives.

Speaking to GSTV, Timur said: ''We even went to very, very imaginary names. People will not limit their imagination. I can't give names right now because we will continue that dialogue and sincere process for the coming periods.''

While Ronaldo is still searching for Champions League football, the competition will be in its last-16 stage by January, limiting the sides available to join this season.

Galatasaray, who have former United midfielder Juan Mata on their books, currently sit 4th in the Super Lig.
