Chelsea are interested in adding more defenders to their squad and are targeting a move for yet another Leicester City man to improve their back line.

The Blues signed Wesley Fofana from Leicester City, Marc Cucurella from Brighton and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, but want to add more to the squad.

Co-owner Todd Boehly has been serious about his investment in the Blues, having signed nine players all summer, and is looking to give new manager Graham Potter the best possible tools to succeed.

Now, Chelsea are looking at Caglar Soyuncu to bolster their back-line, with the Turkish centre-half having fallen down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium.

Chelsea one of three clubs interested in Soyuncu

Soyuncu has less than a year left on his contract at Leicester, and Turkish media are reporting that Chelsea are monitoring the situation with a view to bringing him in next season.

Daniel Amartey and Wilfred Ndidi have been preferred over him at the back in the Premier League, leaving Soyuncu to ponder his future and consider his options.

Other than Chelsea, it’s reported that Inter are also looking at the Turkish defender to replace Milan Skriniar, who could also be leaving the club at the expiry of his contract at the Italian club.

Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has reported that Chelsea, along with Inter and Villarreal are interested in Soyuncu and have started negotiations to bring the player into their squad.

Chelsea and Leicester have done plenty of business over the years, with the likes of N’Golo Kante, Danny Drinkwater and Ben Chilwell all making the move before Fofana’s switch this year.

Leicester will be hoping to sell Soyuncu in January in order to avoid losing him on a free, something they also have to be mindful of in the situation of Youri Tielemans, who is also out of contract at the end of the season.
