Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the club-record arrival of Brazilian forward Richarlison on a five-year deal from Everton.

The 25-year-old has become Spurs' most expensive signing in history after the club agreed a €70 million fee with Everton, with an initial cost of £50m and a further £10m in add-on bonuses.

Richarlison is the fourth summer signing Tottenham have made this transfer window after the additions of Brighton's Yves Bissouma, Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic and Southampton's Fraser Forster.

The move is now just subject to a work permit.

Richarlison scored 10 Premier League goals for Everton last season as his form in the latter stages of the year guided the Toffees to survival under new boss Frank Lampard. He is expected to provide cover across a multitude of positions at Tottenham.

The Brazil international, who has 36 international and 14 goals to his name, played the majority of the 2021/22 campaign as a central striker, but can also operate off the left wing, which is where he made his name at Watford.

He will join Heung-Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn in a stacked Spurs forward line.

Richarlison's international prowess reached its peak at the 2020 summer Olympics, where he helped Brazil win gold and ended the tournament as the competitions' top goal-scorer with five strikes.

Tottenham's most expensive signing ever

The transfer means Richarlison has overtaken Tanguy Ndombele as Tottenham's most expensive signing ever. The Frenchman arrived in North London for €62m (£54m) back in 2019, but hasn't lived up to expectations and re-joined former side Lyon on loan for the second-half of last season.
