Liverpool’s Alisson, Manchester City’s Ederson and Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris are all tied for the prize of the most expensive goalkeeper for the 2022-23 Fantasy Premier League season.

The trio have all been priced at £5.5 million for the latest version of the game. The fact they top the price list is perhaps unsurprising given the fact they finished as the top three point-scoring goalkeepers last season.

Alisson led the way last year with 176 points, while Lloris just pipped Ederson with 158 points to the Brazilian’s 155. They were the standout premium options for the goalkeeper position last campaign and will once again be the players available for the most money.

Alisson and Ederson both managed 20 clean sheets last season, while Lloris had 16 clean sheets. Alisson also picked up 15 bonus points in FPL last year, which was the most bonus points any goalkeepers could manage in the game.

Behind them in the price list comes eight different goalkeepers on the same price, who round out the top 10 for the most expensive FPL goalkeepers for the upcoming season.

David de Gea, Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Ramsdale, Edouard Mendy, Emiliano Martinez, Jose Sa, Nick Pope and Kasper Schmeichel are all priced at £5m. Of those eight options, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Sa topped the standings for points last season.

The former Besiktas shot-stopper scored 146 points in the 2021-22 campaign, which was 10 more than West Ham’s Fabianski, who notched up the second-most amount of points out of the eight options available for £5m this year.

However, the Polish goalkeeper may face competition for the number one jersey at the London Stadium this season from summer signing Alphonse Areola who has arrived from Paris Saint-Germain. Areola was on loan at West Ham last season, but has been purchased on a permanent deal and will provide David Moyes with a dilemma over who to pick as his first choice goalkeeper.

Aston Villa’s Martinez managed 129 points in the last version of FPL, which was the least of the ‘keeper’s priced at £5m for the 2022-23 season.

Alisson and Sa were the only two goalkeepers to register an assist in FPL last season.
