Roberto Firmino has been linked with a move to Juventus this summer as the Bianconeri look to bolster their attacking options, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on the Brazilian's future.

Firmino, 30, joined Liverpool back in 2015 and has just one year left to run on his current contract, which is set to expire in June 2023.

The Brazilian has played a key role in the Reds' improvement under Jurgen Klopp, and was a vital member of both their Champions League and Premier League winning squads.

However, following the recent signings of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, Firmino has fallen slightly out of favour, which led to him starting just 10 Premier League games last season.

He appeared off the bench a further 10 times, contributing nine goals and assists during his time on the pitch in the league, but it was clear Firmino was no longer first choice.

Off the back of his lack of gametime, Juventus have emerged as a possible summer destination for Firmino, with the Turin side reportedly interested in making a move, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The report details that Liverpool have set a price tag of £25 million for Firmino, which is more than Juventus are willing to pay. Even so, Juve remain interested following the exit of Alvaro Morata, who has returned to Atletico Madrid from his loan spell.

Despite this, Klopp has insisted that the Brazilian remains an important player for Liverpool.

Firmino's contract situation remains an issue, but Klopp has revealed that he isn't for sale this summer.

What has been said?

In his pre-Community Shield press conference Klopp said: "Bobby is crucial for us, the heart and soul of this team, the way we played in the last years was only possible because of Bobby.

"That’s why I’m really happy he was able to train for the majority of the time here in pre-season so far. Everything looks really good so I am absolutely fine. There is no doubt about Bobby’s quality. All the rest we will see how this year goes but he is essential for us."

Before the Champions League final, Firmino admitted to TNT Sports Brasil: "I want to stay. I’m very happy here. I’m grateful to God to be here playing at a great club with great players, winning titles, and my wish is to stay.

"I want to be here, I’m happy here, and that’s all I can say. I want to stay."
