And, it appears Lewis-Potter will make that step-up sooner rather than later, with many sides in the top flight interested in a deal this January.

But, what kind of player is he?

What position does Keane Lewis-Potter play?

Lewis-Potter is usually deployed down the left wing, but can also play as a centre-forward.

How good is Keane Lewis-Potter?

Lewis Potter has certainly paid his dues as a professional as he previously spent a period out on loan at Bradford Park Avenue in National League North.

Following that spell, he featured for Hull in League One and was a key factor in the club earning promotion to the Championship.

In the 2020/21 season, he scored 13 goals and recorded five assists as Hull gained entry into the Championship.

He has dealt with the step up in quality seamlessly, too, as he has been one of Hull's best players again, scoring five and setting up a further three in 2021/22 so far.

In terms of how he plays the game, he is very much in the mould of a modern winger in that he plays on the left despite being right footed. His natural game is to run at pace towards the opposition defence and cut inside on his talented right foot to try and get a shot away at goal or assist a team-mate.

Lewis-Potter's attitude is excellent, too, as his hassling and pressing of opposition defence is a manager's dream.

Hull manager Grant McCann previously said of the youngster:

"Keane is a top, top talent and going to have a huge future in the game and we are lucky he is with us."

Hull have now been taken over by Turkish billionaire Acun Ilicali, who has insisted that the club will not sell Lewis-Potter in January even if an offer of £20m or more comes in.

"We are very proud to have a player in our club that has seen an offer as big as that come in. I think they will pay more,” Ilicali said in a press conference.

“At this moment, even if they pay £20m I will not sell him. I want him to continue showing his talents with us.

“In life, everything has a time and timing is very important and I don’t think it’s the right move now. We just bought the club, and we want to move it forward together."
