Man Utd friendlies: Every pre season fixture this summer listed
Manchester United have been hard at work all summer putting together a squad that can challenge for major silverware this season.
As such, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know fine well that a solid pre-season schedule and astute training will be vital to his side hitting the ground running and hopefully challenging for the Premier League title.
As such, the Old Trafford side will be playing a number of friendly fixtures between now and the start of the new Premier League season on August 13.
Man Utd’s pre season friendlies
18 July v Derby (A) - WON 2-1 (Chong, Pellistri)
24 July v QPR (A) - LOST 4-2 (Lingard, Elanga)
28 July v Brentford (H)
31 July v Preston (A)
7 Aug v Everton (H)
Manchester United kicked off their pre-season calendar on Sunday 18 July with an away trip to Championship side Derby County, who are of course managed by Red Devils legend Wayne Rooney.
They emerged 2-1 winners thanks to goals from youngsters Tahith Chong and Facundo Pellistri.

The following weekend, on Saturday 24 July, Man Utd then travelled to London to face Queen's Park Rangers. Despite an opening goal from Jesse Lingard after just three minutes, the Red Devils then shipped four goals to the home side before netting a consolation goal from Anthony Elanga.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will then play two pre season fixtures in close proximity on Wednesday 28 July and Saturday 31 July, respectively.
First of all they will welcome newly-promoted Brentford to Old Trafford. Then, three days later the Red Devils will make the journey to Deepdale to play Preston North End.
Man Utd’s final match in their calendar of friendlies and their second Old Trafford friendly is against Everton on Saturday 7 July.
Man United fans will be keen to see how their new summer signings, such as big-money capture Jadon Sancho, fare in these friendlies.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, there will be no lucrative pre-season trips abroad to places such as the United States, Asia or the Far East.
Man Utd will kick off the new Premier League season on Saturday 14 August against Leeds United at home at Old Trafford.
