Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.

The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have announced the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, though they missed out on Liam Delap, who has joined Chelsea.

With the Club World Cup on the horizon, we will likely see big deals completed earlier than usual from Europe's elite.

That competition begins on Saturday, 14th June.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • How can Man City replace Kevin De Bruyne?
  • Will Rodrygo leave Real Madrid?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Moroccan side held talks with Ronaldo

Moroccan side Wydad AC have confirmed they held talks with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Last month it seemed like CR7's time at Al-Nassr was over which led to him being linked with a number of clubs including several involved in the Club World Cup like Wydad and Botafogo.

A romantic return to Sporting CP was even mentioned, but he eventually agreed to a lucrative extension with the Saudi Pro League side. (RMC Sport)

Rashford only wants Barcelona

Should Marcus Rashford leave Man Utd this summer, it will only be for Barcelona.

The United forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, seemingly flourishing away from the pressures of Old Trafford.

He is apparently not in Ruben Amorim's plans, while the club will be glad to get him off the wage bill, but Rashford only wants to move to the Blaugrana, should the Spanish giants make an approach. (El Nacional)

Gabriel wants Rodrygo at Arsenal

Gabriel wants compatriot Rodrygo to join him at Arsenal.

“I don’t know. I would like it but who knows? Rodrygo for me is a phenomenon," the Brazilian defender told the Podpah podcast when asked if Rodrygo was signing for the Gunners.

“People are mentioning his name a lot. If it depended on me, of course. As I said, he is a phenomenon.”

Rodrygo has been linked with a big-money move to the Emirates.

Wirtz deal AGREED

Bayern concede defeat in Wirtz chase

Bayern Munich have conceded defeat in the race to sign Florian Wirtz, with the player set to join Liverpool.

"I don't know if we could have paid the price that Liverpool now seems to have to pay," club director Max Eberl said. "It was clear, the entire club communicated that the player was outstanding. And that we could very well have imagined him moving to FC Bayern.

"Everyone was at the table. But Florian decided otherwise. That's how it is in the transfer market,” he added. “In the first step, you say: Damn. But one door closes, another opens. Now we'll reposition ourselves for the future. Florian will make his way at Liverpool. He's an exceptional player. But I always say this: We already have exceptional players at our stadium. It would have been a good fit if another exceptional player had joined us. But now we're trying to find another outstanding player to help us succeed.”

United to rival Chelsea for Ekitike

Man Utd will rival Chelsea to sign Hugo Ekitike.

The French forward is a hot property in the transfer market this summer after scoring 15 goals and registering eight assists in 33 Bundesliga matches for Eintracht Frankfurt this past campaign.

The aforementioned Premier League sides are interested but so far have been put off by the German side's £85 million asking price. (Sky Sports)

PSG have no interest in selling Barcola

PSG will not sell Bradley Barcola this summer despite strong interest from Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

The Champions League winner is viewed as a key member of Luis Enrique's squad and the club have no intention of letting him go which is why they's slapped a healthy €120 million price tag on his head. (FootMercato)

Liverpool now considering Osimhen

Liverpool are now in the race to sign Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria forward spent last season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and has a release clause worth €75 million in his contract with the Italian giants. He will leave this summer, likely to the Premier League after he rejected a lucrative deal in Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd are all interested, but Liverpool are keen, too, and could swoop if Darwin Nunez leaves. (Givemesport)
