Osimhen transfer HIJACKED as Romano confirms surprise last-minute offer

The future of Victor Osimhen has taken another major twist after a move to Al-Hilal seemingly collapsed, with the Napoli star now looking set to remain in Europe.
Osimhen has been one of the most coveted forwards in the transfer market in recent years but the Nigerian’s wage demands have proven prohibitive to teams such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Despite strong interest from the Premier League heavyweights, Osimhen looked set to join Al-Hilal, who had submitted an offer worth €70 million to Napoli after believing the 26-year-old would accept their €30m-a-year salary proposal.
However, Napoli rejected the offer from Al-Hilal and Osimhen is now also thought to have turned down the contract from the Saudi Pro League side, with Fabrizio Romano confirming there to be no agreement with the player.
And, according to reports in Turkey, Osimhen could now be set for a permanent stay with Galatasaray, where he was on loan last season, after they offered him a contract worth €21m.
It is claimed that Osimhen is keen to remain in Europe and continue to play in the Champions League, which could see him accept the lower offer on the table from Galatasaray in a stunning turnaround.
Osimhen set for lucrative deal over Premier League dream
Osimhen has a €75m release clause in his contract at Napoli and both Galatasaray and Al-Hilal could be forced to pay that if they are to secure his signing, with Osimhen’s projected salary making the deal among the most expensive in history.
Having been projected for a big money move to the Premier League, Osimhen’s wage demands may have priced him out of his destiny after being forced to join Galatasaray on loan late into last summer when many doors had closed on him.

Arsenal were considered favourites for Osimhen at the start of 2024 but, even with their still-ongoing striker search, they have not pursued a deal, while Man Utd’s failure to secure Champions League football next season has made their interest somewhat futile.
Chelsea had entered negotiations with Osimhen at various points last summer, including deadline day, and also considered a move this year, but they couldn’t reach a financial agreement with the player despite being his preferred destination, leaving only a select few capable of financing his transfer this summer.
