Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah could be on his way to Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

According to the Evening Standard, Inter are pushing to sign the 23-year-old for a fee of £25 million.

Chalobah is a graduate of Chelsea's academy, which he joined in 2007, breaking into the first-team in 2021.

But he has failed to nail down a starting spot in the Blues' backline which means he could be looking for a move.

Chalobah is determined to be a part of Gareth Southgate's England squad for the 2024 European Championship and realises that he needs to play week in, week out to make that happen.

Mauricio Pochettino's opinion of the centre-back is unknown but he could well be tempted to sell him for the rumoured £25m fee.

Even without Chalobah, the Blues still have Thiago Silva, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Kalidou Koulibaly and Levi Colwill on the books.

Chalobah to follow Abraham & Tomori's footsteps

Chalobah wouldn't be the first Chelsea academy star to leave for Serie A.

Tammy Abraham (Roma) and Fikayo Tomori (Milan) both left England for Italy in recent seasons.

Not only that but the pair have excelled since moving and have earned multiple England international call-ups.

And Chalobah would have a great chance of doing the same if he were to sign for Manchester City's Champions League final opponents.

Inter play a back three that includes 33-year-old Matteo Darmian and 35-year-old Francesco Acerbi.

Chalobah could easily replace either of those heading into the 2023-24 campaign.
