Cristiano Ronaldo all-but confirms shock RETURN with Club World Cup statement

Cristiano Ronaldo has gone a long way to revealing where he will sign his next contract after making a telling statement about the Club World Cup.
Ronaldo is out of contract with Saudi Pro League Al-Nassr at the end of June and appeared destined to depart the side when he waved a tearful goodbye to fans following the final home game of the season.
Rumours quickly built around the next destination of the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend. These were only fuelled by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who claimed that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner might play in the Club World Cup.
Interest quickly came from a series of unlikely sources. There were whispers that Ronaldo could wind up playing for Wydad Casablanca, Botafogo or a Mexican club in the competition, yet in new comments made in a press conference, it appears that he will sign a new deal with Al-Nassr.
“I will not be at the Club World Cup,” Ronaldo confirmed. “Some teams reached out to me. Some made sense and others did not, but you can't try and do everything. You can't catch every ball.”
Ronaldo drops retirement hint: Maybe I’ll wake up and say I don’t feel like playing
The expectation is now that Ronaldo will sign a new deal with the Saudi Pro League side, who are reportedly offering him around €200 million per week over the course of another blockbuster two-year deal.
He did, however, suggest that retirement is not too far away.
“I live day to day, in the present, and I don’t think too much about the future,” Ronaldo said.
“I don’t have too many more years to play. But I’m enjoying the moment. Setting a date to quit… I don’t know. Maybe tomorrow I’ll wake up and say I don’t feel like playing any more. But right now, I don’t feel that way. I’m very happy.
“It’s not the same as when you win, but I’m enjoying it. Let’s see what’s going to happen.”
Ronaldo continues to chase 1000 career goals – a mark that no player has achieved in the modern era.
